Description
Based in Singapore as a member of the global Deal Support & Legal Structuring unit, the successful candidate will support the structuring of client specific solutions with particular emphasis on the Key Client segment. The role entails working with Wealth Planning Consultants, their clients and their advisors in structuring and establishing bespoke trusts and companies and acting as a principal point of contact for senior management and for the Legal, Compliance and tax functions on trust related issues within the Bank.
Key tasks and responsibilities include:
* Drafting, amending and reviewing legal documentation including trust deeds and ancillary trust related documents, corporate documents, indemnities, contracts and agreements
* Identification of and addressing legal and reputation risks; Suggesting mitigating approaches to the bank’s risk and advising internal approval bodies within the bank on legal and reputation risks associated with establishing or amending trust and corporate structures
* Legal analysis on the establishment of trust and corporate structures; bringing legal skills to multidisciplinary teams which will include UBS Wealth Planning Consultants, tax and investment experts and external advisors
* Policy & procedure issues; drafting and amending internal Policies and Procedures on trusts and corporate related matters , obtaining internal approval for policies providing training on the scope and application of such policies
* Instructing and general dealings with external counsel
Requirements Our ideal candidate should have the following requisites:
* The ideal candidate will be a common-law qualified lawyer with 8+ years experience gained wholly or substantially in the field of trust law. Expertise in off-shore and ideally on-shore trusts and fiduciary work from a top ten law firm or financial institution
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Strong risk awareness
* Experience in drafting, amending and reviewing legal documentation is a must
* Highly organized, able to multi-tasks, work both independently and in a team setting
